Matthew Arndt is a film composer based in the New York Metropolitan area. He is known for creating music that is emotional, atmospheric, vibrant, and touching to the human soul at the deepest core. He strives to tell stories through the power of music to impact the human experience in every project whether that be in film or in the concert setting.
From humble beginnings of plucking away at the piano at age of thirteen to now, he is a composer on the rise, always seeking opportunities to collaborate and to connect with others. With a Bachelor’s of Music in composition and a Master’s in Film and Games Scoring from the Film Scoring Academy of Europe, he is a well versed and diverse composer. He has written in a range of styles and ensemble for film as well as concert works.
Through his time at the Film Scoring Academy of Europe, he had the pleasure to be mentored by some of the great composers and orchestrators working today such as Penka Kouneva (League of Legends, Prince of Persia), Alistair King (Harry Potter, Doctor Who, Downton Abbey), Norman Ludwin (Jurassic World, Inside Out, Star Trek Into Darkness), and Pieter Schlosser (Destiny 2).
He has experience working with orchestras such the European Recording Orchestra and as an oboist playing under award winning conductor Theodore Kuchar, who is the principal conductor of the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Ukraine.
